Project 2B - Typography : Expression, Hierarchy and Composition
20.10.2020(Week 9)
For the second project, We are instructed to design our own poster about a social message using only the 10 fonts given. We had to create a sketch beforehand and then we have to do a simple animation. Mr. Vinod stresses that we have to use everything we've learned before into this project. We should also do this project in A3.
This is my first try for the poster, my social message is: "Unless we take action on climate change, future generations will be grilled and toasted." I think I need to make grilled and toasted pop out, because this is the main message that people need to take action on. So I change these 3 words to red colour and add smoke effects on them, this may let the words stick to the meanings.

Feedback
Week 10 :
General Feedback :Mr. Vinod & Mr. Shamsul went through everyone's poster designs and gave everyone feedbacks. Mr. Vinod stressed that we should be able to finish the poster by next week.
Specific Feedback :Mr. Vinod told me that my poster design is great and seems don't have much problems, only thing I need to do is to change the white words to the same typeface as the red words, he also let me make the red word "and" not too close the the word "grilled".

Reflections
Experience- It was fun to make the poster. When I saw other students work in zoom meeting, I thought my classmate are all working so well at the poster.

Further Reading
This week I've read Typography References. I chose Type Classification
and Identification by Allan Haley. I knew that most typefaces fall into one of three basic groups: those with serifs (little feet and tails), those without
serifs, and scripts (designed to look like cursive handwriting). Many more definitive classification
systems have been developed, some with more than 100 different categories.
I found my typeface when I make the poster, It is Giambattista Bodoni. These typefaces were
called Classical designs and it became apparent that rather than updated versions of
classic type styles, these were altogether new designs. As a result, their classification name was changed
to Modern. Because they are no longer modern today, they are also classified as Neoclassical or Didone.
