Final Project

For our final project, each of our group members need to come up with design about the Boshu Uchiwa. Our group members decided to make the designs on bags, t-shirt, phone cases, stamps and so on. I decided to make design on the calendar.

Boshu uchiwa different styles

After seeing examples of the Boshu uchiwa fans, I decided first to make a poster about it and then I can put it into the design project I tried to make.

Poster design

I used Photoshop to hand drew the boshu uchiwa and the clouds. Then, I used circles to drew the red and black Japanese style umbrellas.

My first idea was to make the design be printed onto a calendar. This is how it looks:

I then tried another version of calendar. This is how it looks like : I developed the design and add the color white and red to the binding. Because the color of Japanese flag is this color.

Down the bottom are the final outcome of the pdf files that all my group members and I made. The pdf includes the final compilation and the final project outcome.

Reflections :

During this class, we learnt how to work as a team, and everyone in the team has the job need to complete. Everyone in the group shared their ideas. Our topic Boshu uchiwa is a good topic for preservation. I'm happy to work with my group members and enjoy the time during this semester.
